An End to the Suspense
50 Cent has managed to keep everybody and their mama on the edge of their seats the entire six seasons of Power! This is why I am sure I wasn’t the only one that was in utter disbelief when our Superhero Ghost was killed.
Everyone watching had an opinion about who shot Ghost. We were all anxious to find out who the culprit was. But, we were just as furious when we discovered that this would be the last show of the season!
Tasha and her boo Quinton opened the final episode of Power in a hot and passionate sex scene that left everyone wanting more. Whew, Chile! You rode that man like he was going out of style.
Since when did it become cute to start snitching? When Tasha snitched on Ghost and pointed the FEDs in the direction on Terry Silva’s body, I wanted to jump through the TV. I guess this was one thing that me and Tariq’s ol’ bobble-headed ass agreed on. He wasn’t too fond of Tasha’s antics either. He straight up looked Tasha in her face and told her, “Ma, snitches ain’t shit!” I didn’t know whether to jump through the TV and kick his ass for talking to his mama sideways or to hug him for letting her know she was out of line!
Ghost seemed to be everyone’s favorite character! However, we all seemed to have forgotten that he’d hurt so many people on his way to the top. Hurting people seemed to come natural to him. He was smooth with it, like when he told Tasha, “I release you from our marriage entirely.” Whoa! Hold on playa. Say what? He had a lot of nerve.
How many of us thought Tommy was gonna off Tasha? I just knew it was gonna be lights out TV off for her! Fortunately for Tasha saving the paperwork as proof that Keisha had agreed to snitch was part of what saved her life. Then again, maybe it was Tommy’s soft spot for Riq and Yaz. Either way, he didn’t cancel Christmas on her, and she lived to see another day.
It’s All Coming Together
I don’t know about you, but for me, midway through the final episode, everything started to make more sense. The walls were crumbling down around Tasha. Ghost was running for lieutenant governor, Tariq’s freedom was hanging in the bounds and Ghost knew she’d killed Lakeisha. She had every motive in the world to want to kill Ghost.
Why was Tariq whining about turning himself in? I mean ain’t nobody tell him to kill Ray Ray. But since he did, I think he needed to man up. This must be some new aged crap. You get to talk like a boss, play like you’re a boss, make boss moves, but when it’s time to stand in the paint “like a boss” you tuck your tail and run? GHOST WOULD NEVER! Then to add insult to injury, Tariq gets to talk to his dad like he’s the father and James is the child? What part of the game is that?
Back in my day had I even breathed wrong, my mama would’ve drop-kicked me. I think like most parents, this is where both Ghost and Tasha went wrong. They should have been beating Tariq’s ass instead of covering it.
Slicker than Oil
Nevertheless, when the dust settled, Tariq was the only one still standing. As much as I hate this boy, I have to say, in the end, he wanted to be Ghost more than Ghost wanted to be Ghost.
While Ghost was making strides to become James, Tariq was being envious and playing right up under his nose. It made perfect sense for him to be the one behind the trigger. Not only that, Tariq was the only one that could have gotten close enough to Ghost without raising any red flags.
How do you think Tasha felt when she sat in front of the probate lawyer and heard that she wasn’t going to get anything? Even in death, James still had the upper hand. He left everything to his kids and made sure that Tariq wouldn’t be able to even smell his inheritance unless he completed a four-year degree.
Tariq put on one hell of a show, for Cooper Saxe. He even placed Cooper Saxe at the scene of his dad’s murder. How the hell you go from whining like a baby to blackmailing a FED? You’re even about start college. Not next month or next year, but right now today! I know some people that’s been in high school eight years and still ain’t made it to college! I’m so confused; this is too much for TV!
All Good Things Must Come to an End
After all the scandalous stuff Tasha and Tariq had done in the later episodes, I guess it’s safe to say it finally caught up with her. Yeah, Tariq pulled the trigger, but Tasha ended up arrested and charged with James’s murder when her not so foolproof plan backfired. Sorry T, I guess Q was smarter than a fifth grader!
Speaking of, y’all, please forgive me, but when they booked Tasha, and she took off that wig and removed them eyelashes, I almost died when I saw them Celie braids! LOL. Whew, Chile, the ghetto!
What’s to Come
Meanwhile, while Tasha rots in a cell, Tariq is starting college and living his best life. Spoiler or Nah? Tariq’s dorm door says class of 2024; does this mean that the subsequent Books will run us for another few years?
Curtis 50 Cent Jackson has already confirmed that Power Book 2: Ghost will air Summer 2020. As of now, we know that Ethan Cutkosky (one of the cast members of the hit TV series Shameless Carl Gallagher), will be playing Tommy Egan. Mary J Blige will be starring as Monet. Sources say Monet has more business smarts and game than the average hustler! Method Man will also grace this new and already popular series.
As for me, I’m impatiently waiting for Summer 2020 so that I can check it out!

Until next time!
