Tonight’s episode of Love & Hip-Hop New York proved that Phresher’s girl Jennifer is Smarter than a Fifth Grader. Phresher has been in the doghouse since the season started. His old skeletons were coming back to haunt him. Once everything hit the fan, he still decided to sneak and see the woman that was once his side piece so that they could make a business arrangement. Now I don’t proclaim to be the smartest person in the world. But if I’m already in the hot seat with my people, there ain’t no way in hell I’m about to sneak off with the chick that has my life in shambles even if it is innocent.
Too bad everyone doesn’t think like that. Jennifer found out about the meeting, and she paid the side piece, Jada, a visit. She then went to have a pow-wow with Phresher, and this fool thought that proposing would make everything better.
A Beautiful Nightmare
He proposed, and Jennifer accepted, but she later told him that she wanted to give the ring back because she doesn’t want to get married. She explained to him that she’d only said yes because she understands what it feels like to be embarrassed. She didn’t want to do that to him. Phresher blew up at her and went completely off; this is where I got confused. How can you be mad at a woman for knowing her worth? Boy bye!
A Love & Hip-Hop Favorite
My all-time favorite couple is Jim Jones and Chrissy Lampkin. I wish I could have seen more of them this season. I would love to see them have that fairytale ending where Chrissy becomes Mrs. Chrissy Jones. But it seems like Jim is pushing for marriage, and Chrissy is now at a place in her life where she doesn’t have to ever get married. That kind of sucks, especially since she loved this man enough to propose to him back in the day.
A New Love
Safaree and Erica Mena welcomed a beautiful baby girl on last night’s episode. When Erica called, Safaree went running. He made it to the hospital in record time to witness the birth of his baby girl—such a sweet and precious moment.
The Start of Something New
In this episode, Yandy had mixed emotions. She didn’t know how to feel with Mendeecees coming home. She knew that she was happy, but she was scared at the same time. Yandy has lived the last five years without him. Now he’s coming home from prison, and they have to learn one another all over again. I love that Yandy stood by his side the entire time. I’ll forever respect her for that.
Cisco, Cisco, Cisco!
We finally got to the bottom of the Olivia and Rich’s situation. Well kind of anyway. We still don’t know if Rich was actually stealing from Olivia or whether she didn’t own any rights to the song December. However, what we do know is that, as usual, Cisco started it all. Plot twist! Amina stayed over Cisco’s house Super Bowl weekend, and Cicso didn’t even have the decency to contact Peter to let him know! Sounds fishy to me! I would have done what Peter did and assumed the worse!
On another note, how you jump on somebody and end up on the ground? That wasn’t a good look Cisco. If you were my man and that’s your rendition of defending my honor, I would get rid of you on the spot!
Moving On
I was rooting for Cyn and Joe to work it out, but it looks like Cyn is at her wit’s end. She’s not sticking around with Joe while he tries to figure it out. She knew what she wanted, and he played with her. Now it’s his loss. Cyn is single, beautiful and a hopeless romantic. I’m sure she won’t have an issue finding a new special someone. Will she dip back in the lady pond, or will she test the waters with another man?
This season of Love & Hip-Hop has been one for the books! I’ve seen a lot of growth in the characters on screen. From jumping over tables and throwing drinks to mellowing out and mommyhood. From the bachelor lifestyle to marriage and from fallen friendships to brotherhoods.
Love and Hip-Hop New York gave us a little bit of everything this season!
Until next time…
